I am venturing out this morning with my companion of two years, anxiety. Anxiety has been faithfully by my side for a little while now. Bathing me in it’s concern, and filling in the quiet times with it’s dread. For the next three days, I am to lend my services to one of the area stores because they are short handed. Normally, this would be a wonderful opportunity to meet new people, see the workings of a different store, learn…
My new companion however has changed that a little for me. Anxiety has me nervous, has me wondering if the new folks are going to think I am inept, or worst of all, a terrible manager. Damn you anxiety!
I will say this, one of the founding tenets of the Marine Corps has been “improvise, adapt and overcome!” This has been a motto of mine for quite some time. Even with my new friend in tow, I plan to improvise, adapt and overcome!
Anxiety… just say no!

Anxiety definitely doesn’t seem like such a good companion. Even though you may try to ditch him, I know how he can sometimes linger around…and next thing you know, he is right by your side [yet again].
I like your new mantra…and by keeping that in focus today [and in future days], you can keep that pesky friend [?] at bay.
Know I believe in you…
